Application Field
LAMA HI-TEMP is the perfect solution for high-temperature roofing applications, specifically designed for use under metal roofs and as a durable waterproof barrier beneath asphalt shingles. With the ability to withstand temperatures up to 125°C (257°F), LAMA HI-TEMP offers reliable protection in environments that demand exceptional heat resistance and long-lasting performance. Its versatility makes it an ideal choice for both residential and commercial roofing projects.⬤
Application Method
- Surface Preparation:
- Ensure the roof surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, or other contaminants.
- Apply an appropriate primer if required, allowing it to dry completely before proceeding.
-
Membrane Positioning:
-
Unroll the LAMA HI-TEMP membrane without removing the release liner to position it on the prepared surface. Align the membrane to the starting point, leaving a 3-4 inch overlap at the edges for subsequent rolls.
-
Once positioned correctly, re-roll half of the membrane toward the center, keeping the other half in place.
-
- Butterfly Installation:
- Begin with the split-release liner: Peel off half of the release liner from the re-rolled section (usually from the center outward).
- Gradually press the membrane down onto the surface while peeling back the liner in manageable sections to avoid air pockets and ensure smooth adhesion.
- Use a weighted roller or a hand roller to press down the membrane firmly, ensuring complete adhesion.
- Applying the Second Half:
- Roll back the remaining half of the membrane toward the center and repeat the process.
- Peel off the second half of the release liner and carefully press the membrane down onto the surface, smoothing it with the roller to ensure full contact.
- Seam Overlapping:
- For the next membrane sheet, overlap the previously installed sheet by 3-4 inches on the edges. Ensure that the seams are properly aligned.
- Remove the release liner on the overlap area and firmly press the seam with a roller to ensure a watertight seal.
- Final Inspection:
- Once the membrane is fully installed, inspect the surface to ensure there are no wrinkles, bubbles, or unsealed edges. Re-roll any sections as needed to ensure full adhesion.
- Check the seams for complete adhesion and watertightness.
